Off the Map & In Person: The Land id Team Gets Together

Every company has a few weeks each year that people keep talking about long after they’re over.

For the Land id team, this was one of them.

Earlier this July, teammates from across the country gathered in southwest Montana to work together, explore the area, and spend some rare face-to-face time outside our usual routines.

The week took us from the Land id office in Bozeman to Big Sky, with collaborative sessions, department dinners, a company barbecue, and a rodeo along the way. 

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments.

• Bison that respected our schedule: None

• Coffee consumed before 9 a.m.: > 20 cups
• Times someone said, “We should make this a meme”: Every time Brian posed for a photo

Working Side by Side

The week officially began with something we don’t get to do very often: Working in the same room.

The team gathered at our Bozeman office for planning sessions, an all-hands meeting, and plenty of conversations that were easier to have face-to-face. Since most of our collaboration is typically through screens, it was energizing to brainstorm around the same table and catch up between meetings.

In the evenings, departments headed to restaurants around Bozeman for dinner. The conversations continued, but with fewer laptops and better food.

A Day in Big Sky

After a productive few days in Bozeman, the team headed to Big Sky to finish the week.

We started with a company barbecue overlooking the mountains. It gave everyone time to relax, compare notes from the week, and enjoy the scenery before heading into town.

That evening, the team attended PBR Big Sky, which Land id was proud to sponsor. Our team also created the official interactive event map, helping attendees find key locations and navigate the venue.

Seeing our logo and map in action—and experiencing the event together—was the perfect way to close out the gathering.

A Montana Adventure

Before the full team arrived, two of our newer team members came to Montana a little early to capture social content and explore Yellowstone National Park.

There were bison, a stop at Grand Prismatic Spring, and camera rolls that were quickly filled.

Until Next Time

The best part of the week wasn’t one meeting, meal, or event. It was having the whole team in one place.

Whether it was collaborating in the Bozeman office, sharing meals with teammates, enjoying an evening in Big Sky, cheering together at PBR, or exploring a small corner of Montana, each experience contributed to a week that was equal parts productive and memorable.
